Brackenridge Park Conservancy accepts and manage contributions to the memorial Mabel Jingu Enkoji Fund. Gifts are perpetually dedicated to supporting the Japanese Tea Garden, which has been restored by the San Antonio Parks Foundation, and to providing cultural programming in the spirit of the Jingu family’s presence and legacy in the Tea Garden.

Mabel Jingu Enkoji (1925-2013) grew up in the Japanese Tea Garden and was an integral part of the vision for its restoration. An accomplished ceramicist, she believed in the power of art to reach across cultures as well as temporal and political boundaries. Activities supported by the fund embody the Jingu family’s Japanese ancestry, celebrate creativity and the arts, and explore the history of San Antonio.
